Weight of the World

Today is a blessed Friday. No doubt it was the one of the most emotionally exhausting and bizarre days in a while, it definitely wasn't what I had expected. This morning I got up early and headed off to help out with the Home Tour. The Home Tour is a little event (actually it's pretty big) in which tones of people by tickets to walk through some of the most beautiful homes in Fresno. The proceeds go to benefit Children's Hospital. The La Comida Guild is the group that puts it together, I'm not sure if others are involved. I had been wanting to get involved in the Guild so my mom and her friend Kristi put my name down to work in one of the houses.

I thought I was running a little late, trying to get to this beautiful home on Van Ness by 8:30am but this morning was ominously foggy. I had been trying to call my mom since she was also working at the house with me. She wasn't answering her phone so I assumed she would be at the house when I got there. She wasn't. I work for a couple hours and then had to be at work at 10:30am and still hadn't heard anything from my mom. I was obviously worried and decided to stop by her house on my way to work.

From there it just got out of control crazy. I won't go into details in order to maintain my family's integrity and privacy but needless to say it was very traumatic for me. My mom was okay but having a very, very hard time. A couple of hours of mayhem ensued. My sister showed up and we spent another hour at the doctor's office, discussing what went on and what happens now. My mom went home with my Aunt, safe.

Despite the horrific morning and mid-day events that I had to control and work through I was really glad to have been able to spend time with Hannah. I realized how important we are to each other. She's the one person who understands and we make it through the rough times with our goofy humor. I was grateful for that. When it's just the two of us we are like two peas in a pod, we're different in almost all aspects except for our humor and our thoughts (most of the time).

She came with me to pay my tuition at State which was mandatory since it was the last day to do it. We waited in line for a while and then I drove her home to see her new apartment. I loved it! They had done such a wonderful job making it their home, it looked great and perfect for them. It was SO nice to see, I'm sure they are having such a good time living there. I got to see Bunni too... whom I had been missing dearly. LOL.

Then she surprisingly wanted to come see Brandon and I's new place when I offered to have her come check it out. I, of course didn't have a key or a way to get into the actual apartment yet but I wanted her to see how close we were going to be again. We drove across the street and into my apartment complex. I knew that the previous residents were officially supposed to be out of the apartment by Dec. 5th which was today so I expected that the place might be in the process of cleaning. When we got to the door I noticed all the lights were on and it was cleared out. Hannah tested out the door knob and it was open!!! I was ECSTATIC! We got to walk through my new place, it was literally AWESOME! Such a relief, as soon as I walked in I knew it was home. It was wonderful, like a little house and nothing was even in it! I can't wait to move in!

I then came home to Brandon who had been waiting for me. I brought us some food, we ate... I showered to get let my muscles feel better. My body ached and my eyes burned and they still are in fact. We layed down to watch a movie and relax... before I knew it we were fast asleep. I woke up to look back on the day and realized I had completely missed work all together and our work party. I was actually very displeased with myself but was grateful that I had the time to regain myself, I hadn't imagined the day would turn out the way it did.

Life really is unpredictable and even though today drained every bit of life out of me, I feel blessed. I'm glad I had gone to check on my mom when I did. I'm glad Hannah and I were able to come together for support. It was just meant to play out the way it did.

On another note... I think I may have gotten Brandon into Twilight. Muahahaha (a little evil snicker). I'm half way done with New Moon, I would have been farther if I had gone to work today! LOL. But I'll probably finish it tonight since I'm being a little homebody.

luv Nat

I truly am sorry about everything. But everything happens for a reason and God never gives us more than we can handle. You are a strong, determined and resilient person. I appreciate having you in my life and my families life. xoxo Everyone missed you at the X-mas party and Derek made Korey bring the meatballs instead so we weren't meatball-less. hehe
