Since I last wrote a lot has been happening. My dad had been in town for the past few weeks which was really nice. Hannah told him of her pregnancy and she also became engaged on Christmas Day. New Year's Eve day Hannah and I went Wedding Dress shopping at David's Bridal. At first I was a little hesitant, I don't even really know why. As we drove there I realized how happy and excited she was to be getting married, her ring was beautiful and seemed to just perfectly fit on her finger. I finally understood that this was meant to be at this moment in our lives and how much she truly needed me to support her and help her. At that moment I put my doubts aside and committed myself to her wedding.
We had a great time looking at different dresses. I don't think there is ever really a time that we don't have fun being together, just the two of us. We laughed as she strutted around half naked, in weird corset bras and funny undergarments. Finally she put her first dress on. It looked beautiful, but I think she would look pretty in anything. Something about it didn't quite stand out. She put on another and it was as pretty as well but not THE dress. Finally she put the perfect one on. This sounds wierd but it fit her personality perfectly and she looked amazing in it! She was worried that she'd gain weight and not fit it right but I assured her that in one month it wouldn't be very noticeable. It was a halter, form fitting, delicately beaded, mermaid and trumpet style... it was beautiful. She put on her veil and it was complete. After we decided on that dress we found the bridesmaid dresses.
Hannah is going to have three bridesmaid including me (the Maid of Honor). We will be wearing black and each of us will have a specific color that will be incorporated into our bouquet and flowers in our hair. Our groomsmen will have corresponding colors that match. Hannah's bouquet will have white along with all the colors of her bridesmaids. I thought that was a pretty cool idea. She wants as many colors as possible in the wedding. We joked about how Shane could have a nice rainbow colored vest. HAHA... she has a lot of neat little ideas. Since her wedding is in February she doesn't have much time to get everything in order. I wish I could be more of a help to her but I have a lot going on as well. Most people take months to plan a wedding and she is starting a month away! I'm sure it will be fine :o) SO much to do!
After we did our wedding shopping we then all went out to the movies. Hannah, Shane, my dad, Brandon and I saw the Curious Case of Benjamin Button which was a great movie. A bit sad I must say though. I was sitting next to my dad and it made me realize how much I miss him on a regular basis and how one day we will all pass away... ugh, who wants to think about that?! I'd rather not think about it!
Brandon and I then went to have dinner at Wassabi and came home to wait for Travis and Val to come over to celebrate New Years. After a couple hours and no one showing up at our place we began to wonder if we were going to celebrate alone! Lol. Hannah and Shane backed out because Hannah wasn't feeling well. Finally, Travis and Val showed up... they had fallen asleep and woken up just in time. We celebrated and played Guitar Hero till 2 or 3am... good times :o)
Since New Year's Eve I have been SICK and it stinks. I haven't been sick in a while so I really hate it when it happens. I think I may be on the verge of Strep but let's hope not. My throat hurts and all I wanna do is sleep. Today unfortunately I had to work for a few hours. I feel like I have so much to do and no time or will to do it! LOL. I need to be finishing some research for a teacher, etc. One day at time I guess.
Monday, Brandon and my cousin Brett start the Police Academy!!!! I am so excited for them. I'm glad they are going together, it will be bonding time haha! I'm really happy for Brandon to get started on this new chapter in his life, he is gonna be the best in the dang academy and he is gonna make a fantastic cop! I wish my future was more cut and dry, lol.
So... my dad was supposed to leave for home yesterday. Hannah and I drove him to the airport only to find out a few hours later that his flight wasn't able to leave because of fog trouble in San Fran. So he stayed yesterday in Fresno which was nice because we were all able to have dinner one more time. We ate at Casa Corona, I think it's our new stomping grounds. My dad likes it and I think it reminds him of the old days in Thailand when we would go to the little Mexican restaurant for dinner just the three of us. Anyway, my dad left this morning and I am a little sad he had to leave. I miss him so much, but I'm glad he will be home for Hannah's wedding in February. And then I'll be able to see him this June when I meet up with him in Ireland and then go back to Korea with him for a couple weeks.
On a totally different note... Brandon and I started our first devotional last night! We randomly went into a Christian Bookstore last night and found an awesome book called the Love Dare. It's 40 days of challenges and I'm really excited about it. I think it will be such a wonderful thing for our relationship, to bring us back to the heart of things... Christ. I'm really looking forward to church tomorrow as well. Anyway, I guess that's all for now.
Luv Nat
