Exhausted... I am.

Expecting I was not, what today has been...(wow, don't I sound like Yoda?) Hahaaha. I crack myself up... seriously, but not really....

This weekend was a good one other than feeling sick and the horrible canker sores that have engulfed my mouth... yes, I know it sounds gross but it's a part of life. Lol. Some people get them some don't. I've gotten them since I was young but as of recently they have just gotten far out of control. It started last week when I was cleaning our old apartment and accidentally bit the inside of my lip. Later that day I bit it again, and again. It felt sore but I didn't feel a canker sore. After New Years though I started to feel like I was running a fever, I was weak, and my throat hurt. I could also tell I was getting my first canker sore of the New Year, LOL. One I can handle, maybe even two... but I wasn't prepared for what was to come. I usually get canker sores when I'm about to get sick, weakened immune system, or do something dumb like bite myself. I got all of those... and so what came forth was a plethora of canker sores on top of being ill. I was needless to say the least pleasant person to be around. It hurts to eat, it hurts to talk, smile, drink, brush my teeth.... kiss :( -- they aren't contagious! Anyway, the last few mornings I've woken up in pain but nothing was more painful than today... well except my episodes with sea salt.

I went early this morning to my grandparents to grab my dad's wallet that he had left there. I took it to the post office and while waiting in a forever long line I googled canker sore remedies on my phone. My Aunt had just told me about using Alum (a spice) to help it. So I found out that it does in fact help them. I have been using this stuff to numb them but I just want them to go away! Oh... I have 6 now by the way. SIX! Just shoot me. So after I finished at the Post Office I ran over to Savemart and picked up some Alum. I went to work early and decided to put some on. I went to the bathroom and put some on each canker sore... and pretty much almost threw up in pain. It was the most painful thing ever and tasted like crap. I have to admit straight sea salt hurts a little worse but still pain is frickin pain. I know I have a high pain tolerance so this was BAD. I rinsed my mouth out and did it again and again. Finally it was time to work and my mouth was noticeably feeling a bit better. I could actually talk. Not twenty minutes after I had finished with the Alum I was in even more pain!

I sat there at work trying to act ok but it was awful. We had our Monday morning meeting with everyone and I could barely concentrate on anything, I just wanted to scream! I was I supposed to talk to customers and sale products when I wanted to cry every time I moved my lips?! So, I decided to leave work to go to the doctor's office. Well, that was no good.. it was more packed then I'd ever seen it. Urgent care was on overload with a wait time of 3 hours and my Doctor was booked for the whole week! I left, sad... in pain, disappointed, and exhausted from the pain. I knew I had "heavy duty" painkillers at home so that was better than waiting around seriously sick people for 3 hours. I most likely would have caught something just being in the same vicinity. I'm home now, managed to put some food in my stomach. Drinking sparkling apple cider, I'm not really sure why other than it feels good. I need to go out and get Brandon's bday presents but I just have no energy after all the pain.

I think I'll probably take a nap, get up and workout and possibly find Brandon's gifts. I don't work tomorrow so that will give me hopefully a good healing day so I'm on top of my game Wednesday. Tomorrow morning I might try to hit up urgent care when they open. I have a hair appointment at 10, yay! Hannah is coming along as well so she can discuss her hair ideas for the wedding... until next blog, now codeine and nap I must take.

luv Nat
