Little Specks of the Mundane.

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
- Isaiah 41:10

So this weekend was a great one. I didn't have to work Saturday which made me extremely happy. I should have devoted that day to school work and re-writing my Statement of Purpose but instead I watched T.V, I painted my toes, watched tutorials on how to curl my hair with a straightener and play with different styles of makeup on youtube. It was rather eventful. I ended up spending a couple hours before Brandon got home trying to curl my hair with my straightener which actually came out pretty decently for my first try. If you don't already know I happen to suck at being creative with my hair, LOL.

After I had created a beautiful mess of my hair and did my makeup Brandon got home and I was ready to go out!!! He got ready and we decided that before we met up with my friends we should grab a bite to eat. Aaron was already at Casa Corona and it is only 2 seconds away from our place so we headed over there. It was packed as usual. We put our names down and then jetted back home to ripstik, cause we're nerds. LoL. It was at Casa that I began thinking deeply about maturity oddly enough. It was probably due to the fact that a certain group of individuals at Casa made it apparently obvious that they had not officially grown up and matured into adulthood quite yet though I knew they were more than old enough to possibly understand "class". (I mean class with a capital C, encompassing integrity and respect. Which they lacked.) More specifically, I felt as though Brandon and I had time-warped back into High School. I know exactly why these "individuals" were acting like dramatic children, it was clear from the moment we walked in that there was going to be a pathetic conversation about us no doubt entailing what we were wearing, how we looked, how we acted, etc. and then of course it was to be relayed on to a certain someone (one of our ex's LOL)I didn't even know these girls and I knew right away what the dilemma was about. Seriously, it was rather ridiculous and rude. I was almost tempted to lean over and introduce myself then blatantly state, "it was over a year ago, get over it...tell you know who I said hi." LOL but I refrained.

In any case, dinner was great and quick. We chatted with Aaron a bit and then took off back home to hangout before we were to meet with my friend Ash and Melissa at Pangea. Brandon and I ripstiked a little more cause we are pretty much addicted. I definitely need to get my own... soon. Finally we met up with my friends and Cheng about 9pm and sat around drinking wine and laughing. We talked about last Thursday night, the gay event at Sambas. Wow was that an experience. One of Ashley's bestfriends is gay and he was holding a gay event in Tower so we dropped by and had some drinks. It was extremely interesting, needless to say I had never seen so many guys dancing all up on each other so sexually. LOL. It was fun, we'll probably go again this week.

Anyway, Brandon went home early and I stayed out with Ash at the Elbow Room. She got her infamous cigar and we chatted for a bit longer. We took off around midnight and then chatted in the car till 1am. Good times :o)

Sunday morning Brandon and I hit up the gym then headed over to my Grandparents like we usually do for lunch. Afterwards we went over to his parent's house, played with the new puppy and hung out a bit. We went home and got ready for church. His parents and sisters were all going to the 7pm service at the Well so we found our way back over to his parent's house for coffee and desert before church. The church service was incredible.

It was a day dedicated to learning more about the cross, it's symbolism and power. Not only that but the pain and agony that Jesus went through before our sins were finally washed away. The music was very melancholy and beautiful, slow and tranquil. The sermon was very serious and intense, and at just the right moments the rain would pour onto the church roof and sound like waves of power. During the second set of worship songs I found myself holding back tears. I felt lucky to have Brandon by my side, someone that encouraged me going to church even when I feel down or sad. I felt thankful for my life and for the blessing God has bestowed upon me, grace.

That night after doing some homework I found myself laying in bed holding my old beat up, excessively highlighted and book marked Bible. I started at Genesis just because it's the beginning and I figured that's where I should start but slowly found myself reading Matthew. Without my constant, close, and ever expanding relationship with God I feel lost and helpless but once I dive back in I feel whole, anew, and strong.

It was actually kinda funny because yesterday I was tempted (situation is unnecessary)... and I knew the right thing and was strong enough to do it. I didn't even have to ask God what to do with it, it was if I heard him in my conscience telling me what to do. I pulled myself away and he gave me the words to end the temptation. I felt lucky and thankful. It's good to be good ;o)
