Black Friday

Ok, so it is Black Friday but seeing as I have very little money I did not participate instead I slept in and am now at work. Very uneventful work might I add. However, Brianne and I did decorate the branch today. It looks very festive :) Yesterday was Thanksgiving and Brandon and I went to Lodi to spend it with my Mom's side of the family, or what I like to call the Shield's Mayhem! It's always fun it just really wears me out, lol. My mom's side of the family is very large, my mom is the 6th out of 12 so as you can imagine we have a large extended family. My Aunt Laura has 9 kids and my Aunt Carol and Uncle Pat have four girls who are Hannah and I's age. There's never a shortage of kids! We had so much food there, it was so tasty! Plus there was a bounce house, my cousins got to ride horses, play on the quads, and dirt bikes. Not to mention my mom had brought up our dogs: Hank, Baby, and Arnold. They are so cute! I think Brandon and I might take Baby (my little chihuahua) once we get settled into our new place and of course pay our pet deposit, hehe.

On Tuesday night Brandon and I had fun! My girlfriend Ashley had mentioned going out to the Standard for Karaoke Night and since I hadn't seen her basically all semester I made sure we got to meet up! We had a lot of fun and ended up at Habanos. My friend Evan even came out which was awesome! Wednesday I had to work and definitely did not want to get out of bed, lol. I wasn't feeling too great all day and ended up falling asleep at like 5pm! Brandon had the night off so he decided to head over to Travis and Luke's to hang out. I ended up waking up and heading over there as well to hangout with Val! Brandon and I played Guitar Hero for the first time and LOVED it. We are definitely getting it for the apartment, it's a bit addicting. We sucked horribly at first but I think Brandon was getting down the drums alright :)

Anyhow, I think my girlfriend Katie who moved to San Diego is coming into town tonight which is exciting! I haven't seen her for a while. I miss my Katie and Becca. Things have been so hectic and filled with school and work that I haven't seen much of them this semester either.

Well... work is quite boring at the moment. To be expected. I guess at the moment I just need to keep racking in some hours and studying for my finals. Save my money so Brandon and I can buy the rest of our Christmas gifts and put our new rent and deposit down mid-December. We have a few things we really want to get for our new place... that I almost bought us today but refrained. Lol. We want a new flat screen TV and we really need an additional piece of furniture for Brandon's bedroom set. That way we don't have to mix and match his and mine. My bedroom furniture is okay but very old, I've had it since I was probably 6 years old from Texas. I plan on it being a heirloom, pass it on to my kids. Brandon's is a very pretty cherry finished dark wood, much more sophisticated. Brandon also has a really comfy down comforter that needs a new duvet cover, the other blue one is awful! We also will probably need to get a new coffee table and end tables for the family room, maybe some bar stools, and rugs. Oh so many dreams, haha!

Last night was my first night in our old apartment alone, Hannah and Shane have moved out and Brandon was at work. It was a little lonely, it kind of started to hit me that Hannah and I no longer live together. I guess I felt as though she was just out of town, but she's not! She does't live with me anymore. I started getting worried and scared. I won't be there to make sure she locks the doors, keeps the windows closed and locked. I won't be there to make sure she pays her bills, to make sure she doesn't burn the house down, I won't be there to make sure she doesn't rack up a huge electricity bill. I won't be there to make sure Bunni is being taken care of, to make sure she is getting food and water, and her kitty litter is clean. I won't be there to hold her accountable... she will have to hold herself accountable.

As much as it worries me, I have to believe in her. She MUST do these things on her own and find herself without someone always being there to back her up. No longer any crutches. It's nice to only worry about myself... even though it's hard to give up my "obligation" of taking care of my sister. I pray she stays strong, takes care of herself to the best of her ability, and makes decisions that will make her better and independent! I know she will be just fine. God look over her.

The best way for someone to take charge of their life and be independent is to have no choice but to do it. Hannah will have to do things on her own now and she will be a better person for it. You are a good sister to worry though. :) Congrats on the new place....so exciting!
